As the music begins, "Sailing" is with you.
On July 12th, the second day of their social practice activity, students at Shangrong Primary School in Qinba Town, Wuchuan City, received their first dance class during their rural service trip. The instructors were two female members of the "Sailing" social practice team.
One of the team members said, "Line up in two rows and follow the teacher to the dance studio."The children, in their innocent voices, replied, "Okay!"
The children followed behind the team members, chattering like little sparrows, until they reached the dance studio. A few impatient children were about to enter when a team member stopped them.
The team member gently said, "Before entering the dance studio, you must take off your shoes. Please take your shoes off and put them here."
Two primary school students murmured, "I've never heard of taking off shoes to enter a classroom."
Perhaps because there were no professional dance teachers, or perhaps because most children in the countryside are carefree and relaxed, most children had never been exposed to dance classes before. Therefore, the team members started with the simplest leg stretches and basic warm-up exercises.
"Teacher, I don't know how to do this move."
"Teacher, this move makes my legs hurt."
"Everyone, pay attention, control your movements carefully, stop if it hurts, don't hurt yourselves," the little teacher instructed the elementary school students while correcting their movements.
Although it was the last class of the morning, the children's enthusiasm remained high, and they didn't seem hungry. Even though most of the students had no dance experience, they still learned very seriously and hoped the team members would teach them more moves.
"When the music starts, repeat these moves with the teacher once, and then we'll be done."
As the music started, a group of children went from being shy and completely afraid to dance to being able to move along with the music.
