Looking back on the past, feeling gratified today, and moving forward.
Today was the first day of the rural service program. Seeing the slightly shy faces of the students, I couldn't help but think of my own childhood. My elementary school didn't have such programs, and I was always filled with envy and curiosity towards university students. I feel happy and fortunate for these elementary school students, who have such special memories in their elementary school years. Although it was the first day, the classes proceeded smoothly thanks to the well-arranged prior work. I had thought that elementary school students would be difficult to manage in class, but it wasn't at all. They were very well-behaved; as long as we were attentive, they would listen attentively. The classroom atmosphere was lively, and the students showed great enthusiasm and curiosity towards the teachers' lessons. Many students actively answered questions, and their answers were relatively informative. When asked about the conditions for plant germination, the students basically answered the key points: water, soil, sunlight… The students were still very enthusiastic after class. They politely greeted each teacher every morning and afternoon. Their memories were also quite remarkable; they could quickly remember our names and would always greet us when they met.
Hello, teacher! At this moment, I realized that we are truly teachers in their hearts, and I feel incredibly gratified. Playing basketball with the students after class, I discovered their incredible talent. As a college student majoring in basketball, I felt particularly ashamed; they had mastered dribbling and the rules of basketball. I sincerely admire and envy them, hoping that their talent won't be stifled, and that they will strive to pursue their interests and dreams. I can almost see them growing up, achieving their dreams, and just thinking about it fills my heart with sweetness. Perhaps this is the greatest hope of a teacher. The teachers were able to prepare well for each lesson, and today's opening ceremony went smoothly, with the children lining up and taking their seats in an orderly fashion. The children were always very enthusiastic about the new knowledge and questions. The teachers were generally able to control the classroom atmosphere, but due to a lack of experience, the lessons weren't always fulfilling, and the students sometimes felt bored. We need to prepare more thoroughly. Overall, today's rural service trip went relatively smoothly; it was a fulfilling and rewarding day.
