People are always on the road.
Walking through the streets and alleys, the evening breeze brushed against my cheeks like silk, cool and refreshing! Leaves, detached from their branches, drifted aimlessly in the dim light of the lamps, like homeless children. The doors of the houses on both sides of the street were closed, the rooms filled with a warm glow; perhaps the owners were lying in warm beds, dozing off.
Looking at my own shadow, I unconsciously pulled my hands tighter into my pockets, as if I were cold. Although it was a summer night, my fingers, chest, and shoulders felt a chill! Without realizing it, I looked up at the sky; it was pitch black, stretching to the horizon. Sometimes I really like nights like this, walking alone, reminiscing alone, shedding the pretense of the day, able to cry freely, without restraint. The night hides my vulnerability; it is the silence of language, telling no one!
In this mortal world, the most bustling, yet also the loneliest! The bright lights and revelry belong to others, they have nothing to do with me! I walk my own path, indifferent to others, gently grasping the chill of the night, shaking off the hidden sorrows, letting sadness scatter! I always thought many people would be in my life, would be by my side, but one day, looking back, I found they had already been lost around some road corner; I always thought many things would leave me with beautiful memories for a lifetime, but as I walked on, I found they had become untouchable pain! In fact, we are always on a journey, meeting and losing are the process of life, as natural as the blooming and withering of flowers, not something to lament, yet leaving behind a lifetime of pain and sorrow.
If time could turn back, what I most desire is to walk again with those I've met in this world, every footprint matching perfectly, only this time with more understanding and appreciation for each other! Even if we forget each other in the future due to the busyness of life, there will be no regrets, for every view back will be the most beautiful scenery. But life is a journey with no turning back, allowing no one to return! Whether you stop or wave goodbye, then it's a lifetime.
Some people, who promised to cherish and stay together for a lifetime, later, searched the whole world but could not find a trace of her/him! When a cloud drifts across the sky, I will still think of the path we walked together, but all of that belongs to the past! The trajectory of my life no longer bears her/him's shadow, and I have no way of knowing whether she/he is doing well or badly!
